Out Of The Mouths Of Babes

liquid's YTD: $559.45

I've accomplished goal #4 for 2006: I signed up for a Eurobet rakeback deal through RakeRebate. In my first week of play I've tallied $48.50 in rakeback, which is a Good Thing since my results so far this year have been erratic.

I've made a few poor, costly decisions at the PLO tables. One of the worst: I led out from the BB with T4xx on a 44T flop. (Not the bad decision.) One caller. Then I potted again on a 7 turn. (Still not the bad decision.) Foe re-raised pot. I promptly pushed all-in, never bothering to note foe's tight-passive stats. (Monumentally bad decision.) Foe showed down the obvious TTxx.

So I am trying to slow down a bit and run through the basics: note who I am playing; think through what the action has been; make good decisions.

Make good decisions.

Make good decisions.

(I am also trying to succumb less to Fancy Play Syndrome, but that's a topic for another day.)

Old En Zyme

napalm's YTD: $575.00

Finished the year at about $18,750.

16 Final Tables in various tournaments, 5 wins/chops.

Played a lot of low stakes NLHE, did OK.

Switched to LHE, got smoked.

Hope to crush $30K this year.

Bring it on you donktards.

Auld Lang Syne

liquid's YTD: $122.95

Quick (and belated) end-of-year wrap-up.

Final YTD for 2005 was $6006.81. I'm happy with that. I ran g00t the last 3 months of the year, tallying roughly 60% of my winnings during that span. The final three weeks were anti-climactic poker-wise, as I ran nearly even upon my return from Vegas, and then went on vacation after Christmas.

My goals for 2006 aren't lofty. I'd like to clear $10,000. (Already behind schedule.) I'd like to go back to Vegas. I'd like to go to Tunica. I'd like to get a rakeback deal or two. Beyond that I'll just see how it goes.

Why I quit NL tournies

Napalm's YTD: $87.00

So I get this free ticket from the DEVIL today to a $10 MTT on Hollywoodpoker.com.

I get KK UTG, bet 4x BB, get rasied, then reraised by shorter stacks. I call vs QQ and 99. 9 on the turn. Q on the river.

I pick up some blinds and rebuild a little. I then get QQ UTG, rasie 5x bb, get reraised by a short stack, I go all in vs 33. 3 on the river.

Next hand, I get A Q and push. Get called by K Q. Q on the flop, K on the river.

I probably made at least 15 final tables last year and won about $10K playing MTTs. I don't think I have the patience for it this year though. They just take so much time.
